End Citizens United Congratulates Congressman-Elect Derek Tran on Hard-Fought Election Win

Dec 02, 2024

End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement congratulating Congressman-elect Derek Tran on being elected to California’s 45th Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Congressman-elect Tran on his hard-fought and well-deserved victory. His campaign is a testament to the strength of a people-powered campaign that stands up to special interests and rejects corporate PAC money. We’re looking forward to working with Congressman-elect Tran in Congress to clean up corruption and protect our democracy.”

ECU endorsed Congressman-elect Tran in May 2024, citing his commitment to standing up to corporate special interests, rooting out corruption, and protecting our democracy. In October, ECU filed an ethics complaint against his Republican opponent, Michelle Steel, for illegally engaging in partisan political activities at an official event.

ECU is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
