Bourdeaux joins growing list of ECU-endorsed candidates who refuse corporate PAC money
End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed Carolyn Bourdeaux in Georgia’s 7th Congressional District. A committed reformer, Bourdeaux is making campaign finance reform a top priority, and rejects all corporate PAC money in her campaign.
“Carolyn Bourdeaux is running a campaign that’s focused on what really matters — the families in her district,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “She understands that corporate special interests have far too much influence over our democracy, which is why she’s not taking a dime of corporate PAC money in her campaign, and will fight to unrig the system. ECU is proud to endorse Carolyn and looks forward to working with her.”
“I am deeply committed to campaign finance reform. Corporations and special interests have had too big a seat at the table for too long. Democracy is the birthright of the people, not to be sold to the highest bidder. I am honored to have the support of an organization like ECU. I am ready to fight for real change and to restore the integrity of our democracy,” said Carolyn Bourdeaux.
With a recent Gallup poll showing that 90% of Americans believe the government is working for the benefit of a few big interests, a robust reform agenda is critical to winning support from voters, particularly independents. Notably, ECU polling has found that 62% of voters believe that a candidate refusing corporate PAC money is a sign that the candidate is serious about reform.
