End Citizens United has officially endorsed Patty Judge for the United States Senate.

End Citizens United (ECU) is a grassroots-funded organization that is dedicated to electing members of Congress who, like Judge, will fight to overturn Citizens United and for campaign finance reform to remove unlimited secret money from our political system.

“Patty Judge has a record of serving Iowans and will continue fighting for everyday Americans in the Senate.  She stands in stark contrast to Senator Grassley, who has abused his committee chairmanship and who takes his orders from Washington Republicans and their big money special interest allies,” said Tiffany Muller, Executive Director for ECU.  “End Citizens United is proud to endorse Patty Judge.  We will work with her to give a voice to working families by ending the undue influence that billionaires and corporate special interests have in our government.”

“Special interests have stacked the political system against working families.  I will do everything in my power to change that,” Judge said.  “We must reduce the influence of money in politics, beginning by overturning Citizens United and taking back our system from the millionaires and billionaires who can give unlimited and undisclosed amounts of money to influence our elections.  End Citizens United is dedicated to this fight, and I am grateful for their support.”

Judge’s opponent, Senator Chuck Grassley, has opposed common-sense campaign finance reform, such as increased disclosure.  Under pressure from Republican Senate leaders, he has abandoned Iowans and his constitutional duty.  Despite his long-standing position recognizing the Senate’s duty to consider Supreme Court nominations, Chairman Grassley has refused to hold a Judiciary Committee hearing on Judge Merrick Garland, who President Obama nominated to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court in March.

Information on the candidates endorsed by End Citizens United, including their answers to the ECU questionnaire, can be found here.

End Citizens United PAC was established in March 2015 to counter the disastrous effects of Citizens United and reform our campaign finance system. To date, more than 1.5 million grassroots members from every state and territory have taken action to support End Citizens United.
