End Citizens United (ECU) today endorsed Sen. Chris Murphy for re-election, as well as five reform candidates for U.S. House. The endorsed House candidates are: Todd Litton (TX-02), Frank McNeill (NC-08), Tracy Mitrano (NY-23), Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02), and Kristen Carlson (FL-15).
“These reformers understand that the flood of unlimited, undisclosed money silences American families,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “They’re committed to rooting out the corrupting influence of big money in politics, so that Congress can get back to working for the people, not special interests. We’re proud to endorse these reformers and look forward to helping them win next month.”
Americans’ concern about money in politics is fueling a wave of candidates this election who are making reform a central issue in their campaigns. For the 2018 cycle, 133 candidates rejecting corporate PAC money won their primaries and advanced to the general election, including Todd Litton, Kristen Carlson, Frank McNeill, and Tracy Mitrano.
