End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund Urges Senate Judiciary to Issue Subpoenas Investigating SCOTUS Corruption

Nov 09, 2023

End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund (ECU // LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement ahead of the Senate Judiciary Hearing vote to issue subpoenas for Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo as part of its investigation into the corruption of sitting Supreme Court justices:

“It’s a shame that today’s Senate Judiciary Committee vote is needed, but the rampant corruption and stonewalling by Supreme Court Justices and their benefactors demands it. After myriad scandals, it’s clear that the Supreme Court is unable to hold themselves accountable to ethics standards and will continuously put their billionaire backers ahead of the American people.

“We applaud Chair Durbin and Senator Whitehouse for their tireless commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability for our highest court. Americans are sick of their rights being used as a bargaining chip as justices pad their pockets. In order to root out the corruption eroding the Supreme Court, we strongly urge all members of the committee to vote in favor of issuing these subpoenas.”

Last week, ECU President Tiffany Muller joined Stand Up America and partner organizations in calling on the Senate to hold the Supreme Court accountable, including holding hearings into Justices Alito and Thomas’ corruption and bringing strict ethics standards—like the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, & Transparency (SCERT) Act—to the floor for a vote.
