End Citizens United // Let America Vote Announces $2.8 Million of Additional Ads as the Senate Prepares to Vote on Voting Rights

Ads will run nationally and in Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and West Virginia in support of passing the Freedom to Vote Act

With the Senate set to vote on voting rights bills, and on updates to its procedures to pass them, if necessary, by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund is launching $2.8 million of ads nationally and in key states supporting the Freedom to Vote Act and encouraging the Senate to do what it takes to get this bill across the finish line.

This new $2.8 million television and digital ad buy is part of a $40 million campaign from End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. The ads will begin running on January 11 in Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and West Virginia, running on broadcast, cable, satellite, and streaming platforms, along with Facebook, Hulu, Instagram, Reddit, Snapchat, and YouTube.

Breakdown of ads by state:

  • Arizona – Over $1 million

    • Television and digital ad thanking Senator Mark Kelly for his work on protecting the freedom to vote and calling on Arizonans to join him in his fight.

    • Television ad featuring a testimonial from a Tucson-area veteran, encouraging Senator Kyrsten Sinema to seize the moment to pass this bill and deliver for Arizonans by protecting their freedom to vote.

    • Spanish-language ad calling on Senator Kyrsten Sinema to protect the legacy of Arizona trailblazers and protect the freedom to vote.

  • Nevada – $230,000

  • New Hampshire – $280,000

  • West Virginia – $800,000

    • Television and digital ads thanking Senator Joe Manchin for standing up to dark money special interests and working to pass the Freedom to Vote Act.

    • Radio ad featuring former Adjutant General for the West Virginia National Guard Major General Allen Tackett (Ret.), a longtime friend of Senator Joe Manchin, who praises Senator Manchin for his leadership on the Freedom to Vote Act and stresses the urgency of getting it passed into law.
