End Citizens United // Let America Vote Congratulates Congresswoman Nikema Williams on Primary Win

May 24, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on results of the Democratic primary in GA-05:

“Congratulations to Congresswoman Nikema Williams on winning the Democratic primary in Georgia’s fifth congressional district. Congresswoman Williams has been a noble successor to the late Congressman John R. Lewis, carrying on his fight to ensure every American can access the ballot box and make their voices heard in our elections. In Congress, she’s worked every single day to fight back against cynical, malicious attempts to disenfranchise Americans, particularly Black voters, and is a leading advocate for once-in-a-generation anti-corruption and voting rights legislation. We’re thrilled about her victory and can’t wait to see her get re-elected this November.”

ECU // LAV is a leading anti-corruption and voting rights group. The grassroots-funded political action committee raised and spent $65.5 million in the 2020 election cycle to elect candidates fighting to limit the influence of big money in politics and protect the freedom to vote. ECU // LAV has more than four million members nationwide, including over 75,000 in Georgia.
