End Citizens United // Let America Vote Congratulates Michelle Vallejo on Advancing to General Election

Jun 01, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the Democratic runoff in TX-15:

“Congratulations to Michelle Vallejo on winning the Democratic Primary runoff in TX-15. Vallejo is a champion for the people of Texas. She’s refusing to take corporate PAC money, lobbyist money, or money from trade associations, instead running a people-powered campaign for hard-working families who want a representative who will be accountable to them, not corporate special interests. Vallejo has been a leader in the South Texas community for years–working to help female small business owners. In Congress, she’ll keep fighting for South Texas, taking on Washington corruption, and working to put more money in the pockets of Texas families. We’re excited about her victory and look forward to getting her elected this November.”

Vallejo is running against ultra-MAGA republican Monica De La Cruz. De La Cruz is a scandal-plagued politician who has been caught lying and spreading racist misinformation. She’s just another self-serving politician, who opposed relief for South Texas small businesses, wants to gamble away Social Security for the 70,000 retirees in TX-15, and opposed bipartisan investments in Texas jobs and infrastructure. While Michelle Vallejo will fight for hard-working Texas families in Congress, Monica De La Cruz wants to go to Washington to fight for herself and her wealthy allies.
