End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the New Hampshire Senate primary:

“Congratulations to Senator Maggie Hassan on advancing to the general election. Whether it’s working to root out corruption, lowering prescription drug prices, or expanding healthcare, Senator Hassan has been laser-focused on delivering results for New Hampshire families. She has a proven track record of putting Granite Staters first and making sure their voices are heard in Congress.

“Re-electing Senator Hassan is critical to ensure that the Senate can continue working to fight corruption and defend access to the ballot. We’re proud to stand with Senator Hassan heading to the general election.”

Throughout her career, Senator Hassan has been outspoken about anti-corruption reform and protecting voting rights.

  • In the New Hampshire State Senate, Sen. Hassan sponsored an amendment that would require a company’s board of directors to approve political spending.

  • She has repeatedly called for overturning Citizens United and signed a letter to the SEC Chair in 2017 emphasizing the need for corporate spending disclosure.

  • In the U.S. Senate, she has co-sponsored a number of reform bills, including the For the People Act, Democracy for All Amendment, DISCLOSE Act, Spotlight Act, and Honest Ads Act. She also voted to ensure transparency for groups and companies that may engage in political spending but try to hide their donors.
