Franken is refusing to take any corporate PAC money in his campaign
End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Admiral Mike Franken for U.S. Senate in Iowa.
“From his time serving our nation in the Navy, to working for presidents of both parties, Admiral Franken has always put the people and the country first. Now, he’s running for Senate to bring that service to Washington to make certain that wealthy corporations and the politicians they fund stop ripping off hard-working Iowa families,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “Iowans need a champion who will take on corporate interests, protect their voice and vote, and work to put more money in their pockets. That’s exactly why we need Admiral Mike Franken in the U.S. Senate and why we’re so excited to endorse him today.”
“For too long, corporate America has exploited Iowa families, putting their own bottom lines first. I’m running for U.S. Senate to stop that. I’m not taking any corporate PAC money, and unlike my opponent, I’m not a lifelong career politician. The only thing I’ll fight for in the Senate is the people of Iowa, not myself or any corporate boardroom. I’m honored to have the endorsement of End Citizens United // Let America Vote and can’t wait to work with them in the Senate,” said Admiral Mike Franken.
After dedicating his life to serving our country, Admiral Franken is running for the Senate to take on corporate special interests, defend democracy, make Iowa a leader in creating good jobs, and make healthcare more affordable. Unlike his opponent, career politician Senator Chuck Grassley, Franken is proving to Iowa voters that he will not be bought by corporate special interests because he’s taking the bold step of refusing to take corporate PAC money in his campaign. Over the course of Senator Grassley’s long career, he has taken $9.5 million from corporate PACs and has advanced their interests in the Senate.
