End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Chris Mann for Kansas Attorney General

Jul 12, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Chris Mann for Attorney General in Kansas.

The endorsement is part of the group’s first-ever “Democracy Defenders” program for preeminent Attorney General and Secretary of State candidates in the 2022 cycle. These constitutional officers are critical in the fight to combat dark money-fueled restrictive voting laws being passed across the country.

“As a former police officer and prosecutor, Chris Mann has the experience and qualifications to be Kansas’ next Attorney General,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “From protecting access to the ballot, to holding corporate lawbreakers accountable, to keeping Kansas families safe, Chris’ priorities are everyday people – not big campaign donors or wealthy special interests. Kansans are fed up with the hyper partisanship and negligence of the current Attorney General, and will get more of the same with the Republican nominee. We’re thrilled to endorse Chris Mann, and we look forward to helping him win in November.”

“I have dedicated my life to serving and protecting Kansas communities – first as a police officer and then as a prosecutor,” said Chris Mann. “As a first time candidate, I don’t have a political agenda or motivations; my sole focus is to put public safety above partisan politics. Whether it’s keeping our streets safe, or protecting consumers from bad corporate actors, or ensuring every eligible voter can access the ballot, I will do everything in my power to be a champion for Kansas families. I’m honored to be endorsed by End Citizens United and Let America Vote.”

Mann’s experience both in law enforcement and representing those that couldn’t otherwise afford an attorney taught him that every Kansan deserves to be heard — not just those with deep pockets. Mann supports reforming laws to limit or ban corporate campaign contributions, as well as joining litigation that would overturn or reform Citizens United. Mann is also committed to pursuing white collar crime more aggressively than past Attorneys General and providing enhanced support to district attorneys seeking to combat white-collar crime.
