End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Cisco Aguilar for Secretary of State in Nevada as part of its first ever “Democracy Defenders” program for preeminent Secretary of State and Attorney General candidates in the 2022 cycle. These constitutional officers are critical in the fight to combat dark money-fueled restrictive voting laws being passed across the country. Cisco Aguilar has been a champion for the people of Nevada. He has a track record of working across the aisle, having been appointed to a statewide commission by two different Republican Governors. As Secretary of State, he’ll continue to fight to protect every American’s freedom to vote and ensure transparency in our elections.

“Cisco Aguilar’s story is inspiring. As the first member of his family to graduate from college, he knows the importance of working hard and making your voice heard. And that’s exactly what he’ll do as Nevada Secretary of State–ensure every Nevadan has a voice in our democracy,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “We’re so excited to endorse Cisco Aguilar and look forward to helping him win this November.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of End Citizens United // Let America Vote and be recognized as part of the ‘Democracy Defenders’ program,” said Cisco Aguilar. “I’m running for Secretary of State because democracy works best when it works for everyone– regardless of their zip code. I’m excited to work with ECU // LAV to make sure all eligible Nevada voters are able to conveniently and securely make their voices heard through the ballot box.”

ECU // LAV is a leading anti-corruption and voting rights group. The grassroots-funded political action committee raised and spent $65.5 million in the 2020 election cycle to elect candidates fighting to limit the influence of Big Money in politics and protect the freedom to vote. ECU // LAV has more than four million members nationwide.
