Congressman Cartwright has a strong record on championing legislation aimed at creating a more transparent and open democracy. He cosponsored the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the For the People Act, and introduced the Time Off to Vote Act. He also introduced the OPEN Act to improve transparency by discouraging dark-money groups from using social welfare status to funnel millions into elections.
