Tlaib is refusing take a penny of corporate PAC money

End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for re-election in MI-12.

“Congresswoman Tlaib has been an outspoken leader in Congress when it comes to taking on greedy, wealthy corporations and getting Big Money out of our politics. She isn’t taking any money from corporate PACs, so that Michiganders know she’s working for them, not corporate special interests. And when it came time to stand up for the freedom to vote, Congresswoman Tlaib fought to ensure that every American could make their voice heard at the ballot box,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller.“That’s exactly why we need her back in Congress, and why we’re so excited to endorse her for re-election.”

“I’m thrilled to have the endorsement of End Citizens United and Let America Vote. Since the Citizens United decision, billionaires and corporate boardrooms too often dictate what happens in Washington. That’s why we need to do everything we can do to get corporate special interest money out of our politics, so we can make progress on tackling climate change, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and making sure every person can have the freedom to control their own personal health decisions,” said Congresswoman Tlaib.

During her time in Congress, Congresswoman Tlaib has co-sponsored and supported the For the People Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, and other important anti-corruption and voting rights bills, including measures that would limit foreign influence in our elections, stop voter intimidation, prevent election sabotage, and end billionaire and corporate backed dark money spending in our politics.

ECU // LAV is a leading anti-corruption and voting rights group. The grassroots-funded political action committee raised and spent $65.5 million in the 2020 election cycle to elect candidates fighting to limit the influence of big money in politics and protect the freedom to vote.
