Congresswoman Tlaib is refusing to take corporate PAC money in her campaign
End Citizens United // Let America Vote (ECU // LAV) today endorsed Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for reelection in Michigan’s 12th Congressional District. A champion of democracy reform, Congresswoman Tlaib does not take corporate PAC money in her campaign.
“Congresswoman Tlaib is not afraid to stand up to corrupt special interests to fight for Michiganders,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “Time and time again, she has exposed greedy corporations for ripping off Americans and held them accountable. Congresswoman Tlaib believes in the power of the people—which is why she’s refusing to take a penny of corporate PAC money. Voters can trust her to fight for their best interests in Congress, including lowering prescription drug costs, expanding the freedom to vote, and addressing climate change. We’re proud to endorse Congresswoman Tlaib and we look forward to helping her win.”
“Shadowy special interests and the wealthy greedy elite have exploited our broken campaign finance system, shaping our government to reflect their vision over the will of the people,” said Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. “I’ve stood up against bad actors and won because I know that we need to keep working families at the center of our democracy. It’s why I am refusing to accept any corporate PAC money. Residents of Michigan’s 12th Congressional District and Michiganders across the state know that I can never be bought and that I’ll always fight to get corporate greed out of our politics. I’m proud to be endorsed by End Citizens United // Let America Vote and work together to root out corruption in our politics and restore power to the people.”
Congresswoman Tlaib has spent her career fighting to protect our democracy and ensure Michiganders’ voices are heard in Washington. She’s worked to safeguard and expand the freedom to vote and cosponsored the Freedom to Vote Act, and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. She staunchly supports crucial Supreme Court reform and cosponsored key legislation, like the DISCLOSE Act and the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency (SCERT) Act. Congresswoman Tlaib earned an “A+” on ECU // LAV’s 2023 legislative scorecard for her pro-democracy and anti-corruption work.
