End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Jamie McLeod-Skinner for Congress

Jun 28, 2022

McLeod-Skinner won a tough primary on an anti-corruption, no corporate PAC message

End Citizens United // Let America Vote today endorsed Jamie McLeod-Skinner for Congress in Oregon’s fifth congressional district.

“Jamie McLeod-Skinner is running for Congress with a powerful message of rejecting corporate PAC money, standing up to Big Pharma to lower healthcare costs, taking on the oil and gas industry to tackle climate change and lower gas prices, and banning members of Congress from trading stocks, so they focus on fighting for Oregon families. That message of fighting for working people, not the wealthy special interests, won out in the primary and it’ll propel Jamie to victory this November,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “We can’t wait to help her get elected.”

“As a grassroots candidate who rejects corporate donations, I’m honored to receive the endorsement of End Citizens United and Let America Vote. Now more than ever, we need leaders in Congress who listen to working people, not corporate donors and special interests — and that starts with getting big money out of politics. In Congress, I’ll fight to end Citizens United, get rid of undisclosed money in our elections, and strengthen voting rights — so our government delivers for working people, not corporate interests. I want to thank End Citizens United and Let America Vote for joining our grassroots campaign, and I look forward to working alongside them in Congress next year,” said McLeod-Skinner.

Jamie McLeod-Skinner isn’t taking a cent of corporate PAC money, so Oregon families know she’s fighting for them–and only them. She’s a small business owner who knows how important it is to help Oregon businesses grow and not sell them out to wealthy, powerful corporations. In Congress, she’ll take on corporate interests and work to lower costs for Oregonians, protect the environment, and ensure that everyone has a voice in our democracy.

ECU // LAV is a leading anti-corruption and voting rights group. The grassroots-funded political action committee raised and spent $65.5 million in the 2020 election cycle to elect candidates fighting to limit the influence of big money in politics and protect the freedom to vote.
