End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Joyce Craig for New Hampshire Governor

Sep 03, 2024

End Citizens United // Let America Vote (ECU // LAV) today endorsed Joyce Craig for New Hampshire governor.

“Joyce Craig is running for governor to put New Hampshire back on the side of working families,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “Joyce is dedicated to safeguarding and expanding our freedom to vote—because she knows that our government can never be truly representative of the people until every person’s voice is heard. She’s a longtime champion of our issues and an ally to ECU and LAV going back to her 2017 campaign for mayor. Joyce has a proven record of fighting for issues that matter most—protecting reproductive care, tackling climate change, and strengthening our democracy. We are proud to endorse Joyce and look forward to helping her win.”

“For too long, New Hampshire politicians have been able to exploit our broken campaign finance laws, completely undermining the credibility of our system,” said Joyce Craig. “It’s imperative that we restore trust back into New Hampshire’s gubernatorial office and ensure the power remains with the people. As the mayor of Manchester, I fought to better the lives of working families—and as governor, I will do the same for every person across our state. I’m proud to be endorsed by End Citizens United // Let America Vote and look forward to working together to keep democracy in the hands of the voters.”

During her tenure as the mayor of Manchester, Craig worked to make it easier for voters to access the ballot box, through the implementation of electronic voting checklists, the modernization of voting machines, and translating voting materials into multiple languages. Craig also led voter registration drives in underrepresented communities and worked to ensure senior living facilities participated in absentee voting. She’s committed to addressing New Hampshire’s broken campaign finance system, including closing the loophole that allows owners of multiple LLCs to contribute up to $15,000 per company to campaigns. She knows there must be changes to this flawed system to restore trust in New Hampshire’s state government.

ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than 4 million members nationwide.
