Vallejo is part of ECU // LAV’s first slate of congressional challenger endorsements this cycle, signaling the critical importance of this race
End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Michelle Vallejo for Congress (TX-15) as part of its first House challenger endorsements for the 2024 cycle.
“Michelle Vallejo is dedicated to rooting out corruption in our political system and protecting our freedom to vote because she knows that our democracy only works when every voice is heard—not just that of the wealthy,” said Tiffany Muller, President of ECU // LAV. “She understands that Texas families are being drowned out by special interest groups that dominate the halls of Congress, which is why she is refusing to take a cent of corporate PAC money. We’re excited to endorse Michelle and look forward to helping her win.”
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of End Citizens United // Let America Vote. I’m committed to working together to stop the influence of big special interests trying to buy our elections,” said Michelle Vallejo. “I’ve never taken a dime from corporate PACs because my priorities lie with the people of TX-15 — regardless of their political affiliation. We must shine a light on dark money working to silence voters across the state and creating gridlock in Congress. Together, we can create a government that works for all of us, not just the wealthy and the well-connected.”
Throughout her career, Vallejo has refused to take corporate PAC money and supports banning corporate PACs to ensure voters’ voices aren’t undermined by special interest groups and corporations. She is committed to shining a light on the dark money corrupting politicians on the local and federal level. Vallejo is also a fierce defender of the freedom to vote, placing the issue at the forefront of her campaign after Senate Bill 1 restricted Texans’ ability to vote. In addition to her work to protect voting rights on a local level, she also supports federal protections such as the Freedom to Vote Act.
ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than 4 million members nationwide.
