End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Raquel Terán for Congress

Feb 22, 2024

End Citizens United // Let America Vote (ECU // LAV) today endorsed Raquel Terán in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District. Terán is refusing to take corporate PAC money in her campaign.

“Raquel Terán is a pro-democracy champion, who has fought to expand the freedom to vote and root out corruption in our politics throughout her career,” said Tiffany Muller, President of ECU // LAV. “Raquel has worked to ensure every Arizonan has a voice in our government—not just the wealthy elite. As a promise to be accountable only to the people, she refuses to take any corporate PAC money. We’re proud to endorse Raquel and look forward to helping her win.”

“I am thrilled to be endorsed by End Citizens United // Let America Vote, a group that shares my deep belief that protecting and strengthening our democracy can only be achieved by expanding the right to vote and putting an end to special interest corruption,” said Raquel Terán. “With the growing threats to our democracy from MAGA extremists, I’m ready to work to better the lives of Arizonans and fight for the issues that matter most. I won’t take a cent of corporate PAC money because I am accountable only to Arizona families—not corporate special interests.”

During her tenure as the Arizona Democratic Party Chair, Terán led the charge to successfully flip the Governor and Attorney General offices and hold the Secretary of State office in the midst of rampant election denialism. While in office in the Arizona Legislature, she cosponsored legislation aimed at expanding the freedom to vote and fought for campaign finance transparency. Terán firmly believes in better transparency and accountability in our government, supporting legislation like the DISCLOSE Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than 4 million members nationwide.
