End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Senator Klobuchar for Reelection

Mar 30, 2023

End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Senator Amy Klobuchar for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota.

“There’s no stronger champion working to protect the freedom to vote and get Big Money out of politics than Senator Klobuchar,” said ECU // LAV President Tiffany Muller. “She’s been at the forefront of efforts to make our government accountable to the people and ensure no one gets between voters and the ballot box. Her leadership and advocacy in the Senate are invaluable to our efforts. We’re proud to endorse Senator Klobuchar, and we look forward to helping her win reelection.”

“Americans know there is way too much money in our elections. At a time when threats to our democracy are clearer than ever, it is vitally important that people — not special interests — are able to make their voices heard. I’m honored to have the support of End Citizens United and Let America Vote and look forward to continuing to work to increase transparency in political spending and make sure the democratic process works for all Americans,” said Klobuchar.

Senator Klobuchar is leading the charge in Congress to limit the influence of Big Money in politics and protect the freedom to vote. During the fight to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, Klobuchar, who serves as the Senate Rules Chairwoman, shepherded the bill through committee hearings and made it a priority in the Democratic caucus. She has supported a number of reform bills, including the DISCLOSE Act, the Honest Ads Act, the Democracy for All Amendment, and the Spotlight Act. In 2022, Klobuchar received an “A+” on ECU // LAV’s legislative scorecard on anti-corruption and voting rights efforts.

ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
