End Citizens United // Let America Vote Launches New Ad Campaign In Arizona as Senate Committee Takes Up For The People Act

May 04, 2021

End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) Action Fund launched an over $2 million television ad campaign in Arizona today as part of the group’s campaign to pass the For the People Act (H.R. 1, S. 1). The TV ad campaign comes ahead of next week’s Senate Rules Committee vote on the bill that would stop billionaires from buying our elections and protect Americans’ freedom to vote, among many other reforms. The Rules Committee is expected to approve the bill and send it to the full Senate on Tuesday.

The ads will air on local broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms in Arizona.

“Arizonans are demanding that Washington work for them, not corporate interests and big donors. To do that, we need to take dark money head on, crack down on corruption and protect everyone’s freedom to vote,” said ECU // LAV Action Fund President Tiffany Muller. “The For the People Act meets the demands of this defining moment. It would counteract the egregious voter suppression efforts being carried out in Arizona and across the country, stop billionaires from buying our elections and put in place safeguards to ensure the integrity of democracy. The Senate must pass this bill into law.”

A “Washington power-grab” ??

That’s for sure.

It’s the corporate special interests behind these ads… who’ve been grabbing power in Washington – for decades.

Using dark money and high-priced lobbyists to get their way.

So – break. Their. Grip.

Join Senator Mark Kelly in supporting The For the People Act.

To rein in lobbyists.

Protect the right to vote.

And end dark money.

Enough with the corporate special interests.

It’s time. For the People. To win.

Earlier this spring, ECU // LAV Action Fund and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee announced a $30 million campaign to pass the For the People Act. The campaign includes television and digital advertising; major grassroots activation, including putting boots on the ground in key states; and grasstops education and outreach. The campaign is funding key national and local allied organizations––from good government and voting rights groups to a wide array of issue advocacy groups. This historic investment is harnessing the grassroots energy for unrigging the system in Washington to make it work for everyone, not just those on top, and will make it clear to the Senate that we must pass this bill.
