“Louis DeJoy’s rise in Republican politics is a textbook example of Washington corruption and now it is putting a safe and fair election in November at risk. His coercion of employees into giving to Republican politicians and paying them back later is a crime, it secured he and his wife access to the highest levels of power in American government, and now as Postmaster General he has delayed mail delivery in order to limit voting-by-mail in the middle of a global pandemic to help Trump’s re-election. His resignation cannot undo the damage he has done to our Democracy, but it would be a start.”
