“Nobody has a better understanding of our elections and the tools needed to strengthen them than Sen. Amy Klobuchar. From shepherding voting rights legislation through her committee to holding the first Rules Committee field hearing on the issue in over 20 years, she is truly committed to ensuring every voice will be heard, counted, and protected. Her essential leadership has been critical in the creation of the Freedom to Vote Act, which will protect access to the ballot for every American, stop partisan gerrymandering, and end dark money so that billionaires can’t buy elections. If enacted, it will be the most significant anti-corruption and voting rights bill in generations.
“Now, the Senate must do whatever it takes to pass this bill immediately to ensure everyone has a say in our democracy, not just corporate interests and big donors. It cannot let outdated procedures stand in the way. We will continue the fight until the job is done.”
