This morning, End Citizens United // Let America Vote rallied with Senators and Representatives including Senate Rules Committee Chair Amy Klobuchar, Senator Raphael Warnock, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Congresswoman Sharice Davids, and dozens of allies to urge the U.S. Senate to pass the For the People Act (H.R.1/S.1), a widely popular bill, with support from Democrats and Republicans across the country, which would eliminate dark money in elections and protect the fundamental American right to vote.
“Self-serving politicians and dark money special interests have been spending tens of millions of dollars to suppress the vote across America. They’ve said they know the only thing that can stop them is the For the People Act,” said ECU/LAV President Tiffany Muller at the event. “We have something they don’t: We have all of you. We have the people! We’re more powerful than their dark money, their lobbyists, and their special interests.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he plans to bring the legislation to the Senate floor the week of June 21st.
