End Citizens United // Let America Vote Releases $1.1 Million of New Ads in AZ and WV to Get Voting Rights Bills Across the Finish Line

Dec 23, 2021

End Citizens United // Let America Vote released a new $1.1 million ad buy in Arizona and West Virginia thanking Senators Sinema and Manchin for supporting the Freedom to Vote Act and encouraging them to see it through. The Freedom to Vote Act is a commonsense anti-corruption and voting rights bill that combines ideas from Democrats and Republicans to ensure every American has the freedom to make their voices heard in our elections, ends dark money, stops partisan gerrymandering, and protects our elections from sabotage, making certain that voters are safe from intimidation and trusted local officials are able to count every vote.

The ad in West Virginia features former Adjutant General for the West Virginia National Guard Allen Tackett (Ret.), a longtime friend of Senator Joe Manchin, who praises Manchin for his leadership on the Freedom to Vote Act. The Arizona ad calls on Senator Kyrsten Sinema to protect the legacy of Arizona trailblazers and protect the freedom to vote.

This new $1.1 million television and digital ad buy is part of a $40 million campaign from End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) to pass anti-corruption and voting rights bills. The ad will run on broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms in Arizona and West Virginia along with Facebook, Hulu, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.

Senator Manchin, I’m proud to call you my friend.

I’m even prouder of the bipartisan work you’re doing for West Virginia.

Taking on the corruption, ending dark money, and securing our elections.

Your leadership on this plan is your legacy.

It will be remembered for generations to come.

And it will matter to the millions of Americans whose voices are never heard.

Thank you Senator, for seeing this through.

How did Arizona do it?

How did we elect leaders who shattered glass ceilings?

Who broke barriers,

Who rose above politics,

Exemplifying public service,

And always putting country first.

The simple and sacred act of voting is how Arizona changed a nation.

Now, we must protect that freedom.

Senator Sinema, we’re counting on you to protect the freedom to vote.
