End Citizens United // Let America Vote Statement Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Jan 15, 2024

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

“Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who dedicated his life to ensuring Black Americans have equal access to the ballot box without discrimination.

“The past few years have shown a disturbing rise by MAGA extremists to strip Americans—particularly people of color—of their freedom to vote. They’re attempting to turn back the hands of time to one of the darkest and evil eras of our nation’s history. Yet time and time again, the American people have shown they outright reject this assault on the fundamental freedom to vote.

“Now, more than ever, we must recommit ourselves to continuing Dr. King’s work—ensuring that all Americans have equal access to the ballot box, regardless of race or zip code. Democracy is a fragile experiment, and it’s incumbent on all of us to make sure every voice is heard.”
