End Citizens United // Let America Vote Statement on Hispanic Heritage Month

Sep 15, 2021

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement to commemorate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month:

“We are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and honor the incredible contributions the Latino community has made to enriching our nation’s cultural heritage, strengthening our economy, and protecting our democracy.

“At a time when extreme Republicans and dark-money special interests are targeting the freedom to vote in Latino communities, we’re committed to fighting back. No matter who we are or where we’re from, we all want fair elections, where everyone has the right to vote and make our voices heard on important issues, such as lowering health care and prescription drug costs, creating good jobs, and ensuring quality education.

“During Hispanic Heritage month we urge the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act to counter the anti-voting bills that heavily target Black and brown voters across the country and to ensure every American has the opportunity and ability to participate in our democracy.”
