End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade:
“49 years after the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, reproductive rights continue to be under attack by extremist, dark money forces.
“Corporate-funded dark money groups have propped up the radical politicians who authored and sponsored the Texas anti-abortion law and radical right-wing dark money groups have spent millions to capture the courts with bought-and-paid-for Supreme Court justices.
“On this anniversary of Roe, we remain as committed as ever to fight back against dark-money attacks on reproductive freedom and hold those politicians accountable for their roll back of women’s rights. We will also keep working to elect candidates who will stand up and protect a woman’s right to choose.”
Dark money groups have raised over $250 million in attempts to radicalize the courts, and spent $17 million on anti-Merrick Garland and pro-Neil Gorsuch messaging, at least $3 million to promote Amy Coney Barrett, and $7.3 million on Brett Kavanaugh.
