End Citizens United // Let America Vote (ECU // LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the two year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade:
“Two years ago, the Supreme Court made the extreme decision to overturn almost 50 years of precedent set by Roe v. Wade, effectively stripping millions of Americans of one of their most fundamental rights.
“This heinous decision was the direct result of a decades-long effort by extremists who spent over a billion dollars of dark money to radicalize the judiciary, capture the Supreme Court, and lobby Republicans to pass harsh abortion bans.
“Two years later, women’s lives are even more at risk as MAGA Republicans work to pass stricter anti-abortion legislation and corrupt justices, who’ve pocketed millions of dollars in largesse from ultra-conservative billionaires, rule on reproductive rights cases. It’s more important than ever to elect Democrats who will protect democracy and our freedoms. We also must continue fighting extremism by reforming the Court, shining a light on dark money, and restoring reproductive freedoms for all.”
