End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller issued the below statement following JPMorgan’s announcement that it would pause PAC donations to both political parties for six months:
“What a joke. JPMorgan’s announcement is nothing more than a PR stunt––and a bad one at that, since it’s predicated upon the dangerous false equivalency that led us to this breaking point. There’s only one party––and specifically 147 members of Congress––who incited the violent and deadly assault on our Capitol. JPMorgan––and all corporations that contributed to these seditious members of Congress––should immediately halt their giving to lawmakers who instigated Wednesday’s assault and demand repayment for prior contributions. Better yet, stop trying to buy elections period.”
