WASHINGTON, DC — Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United, released the following statement in response to reports that the Trump administration is preparing to accept a luxury jet from the royal family of Qatar—potentially the most valuable gift ever given to the United States by a foreign government.
“The President scolds parents for giving their kids too many dolls and pencils—then shamelessly accepts a $400 million ‘palace in the sky’ jumbo jet from Qatar. It’s brazen corruption and hypocrisy, but it’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from a leader more focused on making himself richer than on lowering costs or addressing the struggles of working Americans.”
Earlier this month, End Citizens United—one of the nation’s leading anti-corruption organizations—released a damning report detailing 100 instances of corruption, self-dealing, and chaos that have defined the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term in office. The report is available in its entirety here.
Muller, a nationally recognized expert on political corruption, is available for comment on this development and the dangerous culture of corruption and self-dealing that has come to define the Trump administration.
