ECU’s Grassroots Network Stands With Lamb to Fend Off Attacks from Secret and Corporate Funded Special Interests

Lamb is refusing all corporate PAC money in his bid for Congress

End Citizens United (ECU) today announced that its grassroots members have given $100,000 in small-dollar donations directly to Conor Lamb’s campaign since endorsing him a week and a half ago. With nearly 10,500 contributions, averaging just $8.80 per donation, ECU’s members are helping Lamb stand up against attacks by big money special interests supporting his opponent, State Representative Rick Saccone.

Coinciding with ECU’s endorsement, Lamb announced that he is taking a No Corporate PAC pledge, refusing all corporate PAC money in his bid for Congress. He highlighted the pledge in his first television ad, which outlined that he’s the only candidate in the race who has taken the pledge.

“The difference in this race is night and day. While Conor runs a campaign that’s powered by the people, his opponent, Rick Saccone is backed by a handful of mega-donors, corporate special interests, and secret money groups,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Pennsylvania families know that Rick Saccone is in the pocket of the big money special interests. Our grassroots members stand united behind Conor and will continue to help fend off the flood of corporate spending in this race.”

ECU was the first national group to support Lamb’s campaign. The group has 3,700 members in PA-18. The grassroots-funded political action committee (PAC) is dedicated to electing members of Congress who, like Lamb, will fight to get big money out of politics. In 2017, ECU raised $3.5 million for its endorsed candidates.
