End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the Republican nomination of Nick Freitas in VA-07:
“Nick Freitas is a textbook example of an opportunistic, self-interested politician. Forgetful Freitas is beholden only to mega-donors and special interests, especially those who had to bail him out after he failed to file the basic paperwork needed to run for office––twice. Additionally, his close ties to far-right groups and out-of-state PACs should be a big red flag for everyone in the Seventh District who wants fair representation in Congress.
“In stark contrast, Abigail Spanberger doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, and we look forward to watching her win soundly in November. We thank her for being one of the strongest champions of government transparency and integrity in the U.S. House, and we know that she will never put special interests before the priorities of those she serves.”
