Ryan is one of ECU’s Big Money 20 candidates who stacks the deck in favor of his mega-donors at the expense of his constituents
ECU President Tiffany Muller released the below statement following the news that Speaker Paul Ryan (WI-01) will not seek re-election.
“After years of putting Big Money special interests ahead of working families, Paul Ryan is retiring. As Speaker, Ryan pushed his party to respond to the will of mega-donors and corporations, including an effort to strip health care from tens of millions of Americans and a tax bill that raises taxes on middle class families while giving benefits to the richest Americans. Time and again, Ryan proved to the people of Wisconsin that he would rather collect a check from the Kochs than represent them. It’s why End Citizens United named him to our Big Money 20. This should be a message to all Republicans who are doing the bidding of their donors at the expense of their constituents.
