End Citizens United // Let America Vote Endorses Senator Bob Casey for Reelection

Jun 26, 2023

End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Senator Bob Casey for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.

“Senator Casey has been one of the fiercest champions of protecting the freedom to vote, promoting ethics and accountability in government, and fighting against the unlimited and undisclosed money undermining our democracy,” said ECU // LAV President Tiffany Muller. “He knows that we can’t solve the issues facing the middle class until we get the corrosive and corrupting influence of Big Money out of politics. His leadership and advocacy on these issues is critical at a time when our democracy is facing unprecedented attacks. We’re proud to endorse Senator Casey in his reelection campaign.”

“Throughout my career, I have been guided by a phrase inscribed on a state government building in Harrisburg: ‘All public service is a trust, given in faith and accepted in honor,’” said Senator Casey. “In the spirit of those words, I have worked to ensure our government is honest and accountable to its citizens. I am proud to be endorsed by End Citizens United and Let America Vote. The hardworking people and families who are so often overlooked by politicians catering to the wealthy and corporate special interests need someone to fight for them in Washington. I’m proud to be running for re-election to keep up that fight for Pennsylvanians and all Americans.”

Senator Casey has been a leader in the fight for ethics reform, to protect the freedom to vote, and to pass anti-corruption reforms. He co-sponsored critical legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act, which would end dark money in politics, protect the freedom to vote, establish ironclad ethics rules, and stop gerrymandering. Senator Casey also sponsored the Accessible Voting Act of 2021, and has consistently supported the DISCLOSE Act and the Democracy for All Amendment. Senator Casey has also fought for anti-corruption reforms, including helping to pass the Honest Leadership And Open Government Act, a major ethics bill that cracked down on the revolving door, and cosponsoring the Supreme Court Ethics Act, establishing ethics oversight for the Supreme Court. Senator Casey earned an “A” on ECU // LAV’s 2022 legislative scorecard, a testament to his strong advocacy on anti-corruption and voting rights legislation.

ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than four million members nationwide.
