It is truly a travesty when a U.S. Senator is only able to exploit their position of power enough to double their money instead of triple or quadruple it, as Senator Johnson hoped. We can only imagine how devastating it must be for Johnson to make only millions of dollars during his time in the Senate.
Never mind the millions of Americans struggling to recover from the pandemic or meet rising healthcare costs whose situations Johnson has made worse by voting against and blocking measures to lower costs for them and his refusal to fight for good-paying jobs in Wisconsin. Today, all of us must take a moment to reflect on the true affliction facing our nation: Senator Johnson merely doubling his wealth.
The good news for Senator Johnson is that he might be looking for a new, higher-paying job this fall. In November, Wisconsin voters will elect Mandela Barnes, who will spend his time in the Senate focusing on how to help hard-working families, not about how to increase his net worth.
