Last Tuesday, the Chair of the Senate Republicans’ campaign arm released the Senate GOP’s agenda if they retake the majority. The agenda is corporate lobbyists’ greatest fantasy–raising taxes on single mothers, working class families, and retirees, while allowing corporations to keep their $2 trillion corporate tax handout and continue to gouge prices to exacerbate inflation.
This radical, dangerous plan that would take money out of the pockets of hard-working families underscore the stakes of the senate election in Wisconsin. If Senator Ron Johnson is able to enact the Senate Republicans’ extremist agenda, then Wisconsin families will pay the price, while Senator Johnson’s billionaire and corporate donors will be able to continue to slide by.
Fortunately, the hard-working Wisconsin families that Senator Johnson and his fellow Republicans want to bankrupt through overtaxation and corporate price gouging have a champion in Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes. Unlike Ron Johnson and the Republicans’ agenda to raise taxes on nearly half the country, allow inflation to persist, and cancel critical investments in American infrastructure and jobs, Barnes rolled out a plan to support Wisconsin small business and American manufacturing. His plan will protect good-paying jobs in Wisconsin from corporate greed and foreign outsourcing, making certain Wisconsin workers succeed and are financially secure.
