In the Nevada Senate Race, It’s Corrupt Adam Laxalt v. Anti-Corruption Champion Senator Catherine Cortez Masto

Nevadans can’t trust corrupt politician Adam Laxalt

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the Nevada Senate primary:

“Congratulations to Senator Catherine Cortez Masto on advancing to the general election. Throughout her time in the Senate, she’s been a champion for Nevada families. She’s taken on wealthy special interests–and won. She’s fought for good-paying jobs, helped keep schools and businesses open during the pandemic, and worked to lower healthcare costs. She’s been outspoken about the flood of dark money that’s corrupted our politics and allowed wealthy corporations and billionaires to buy politicians and policy outcomes, and earlier this year supported one of the most significant anti-corruption and voting rights bills in generations.

“Senator Cortez Masto is running against former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, a career politician and corporate lawyer who’s made millions representing Big Oil and Gas companies and is being propped up by over $2 million of billionaire-backed super PACs. Laxalt has a long track record of self-serving, corrupt politics. In 2020, he spearheaded the Trump campaign in Nevada and helped efforts to overturn the will of the people, which was widely condemned by law enforcement. He continues to spread conspiracy theories and has already said he would try to overturn election results if he doesn’t win in 2022.

“The choice in this race couldn’t be clearer–a corrupt, self-serving politician in Adam Laxalt, or Senator Cortez Masto, who spends every day fighting to create jobs and put more money in the pockets of hard-working Nevadans.”
