“The Select Committee tonight clearly demonstrated that Donald Trump chose not to call for an end to the violence. The rioters were ‘his people’ and he wanted to overturn the election.
“Over 8 hearings, the committee laid out the evidence showing that President Trump and MAGA Republicans planned, promoted, and paid for a violent, criminal conspiracy to overturn an election they knew they’d lost. Despite the deadly violence, Trump and his allies are continuing to lay the groundwork to sabotage future elections.
“Everyone responsible, including members of Congress and Donald Trump himself, must be held accountable.”
