End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the Senate’s vote to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court:
“The process by which Amy Coney Barrett was forced upon the American people and added to the highest Court has been a complete sham from the beginning and an insult to the memory of the brilliant jurist she is replacing. Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Washington Republicans rushed to put Coney Barrett on the court so that she can be the fifth vote against voting rights, abortion rights, health care, and other essential rights for everyday Americans.
“Corporate special interests and big business got the judge they wanted and the American people will have a partisan Supreme Court hell-bent on overturning hundreds of years of progress and precedent. The American people will render their verdict on this stolen lifetime appointment on Election Day and the fight to protect our hard fought, dearly won rights will continue.”
