End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the following statement supporting the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court:
“President Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a wise choice. Judge Jackson is extraordinarily qualified and has a record that indicates she will increase transparency and accountability in our government and will support our democracy’s foundational principles that everyone should have a voice and vote in the process, not just corporations and big donors.
“The nomination of the first Black woman to the Supreme Court is a historic and long overdue step towards proper representation on our nation’s highest court. It is essential that the Supreme Court reflects the diversity of our nation and has Justices who have had different experiences that are representative of a wide array of Americans.
“Confirming Judge Jackson will be a critical step in freeing the Supreme Court from corporate capture so it protects the rights and freedoms of the American people, instead of radical partisan and corporate special interests. Judge Jackson will make certain we have another Justice with a track record of protecting the people on issues like voting rights, workers’ rights, reproductive rights, civil rights, preventing gun violence, combating climate change, and ending the corrupting influence of big money in politics. In doing so, we can restore Americans’ faith in government and the courts.
“Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has spent her career fighting for equal justice by putting the interests of American families above corporate interests and ensuring that every American has the freedom to vote.
