Let America Vote and End Citizens United Action Funds President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the passage of the updated HEROES Act:
“Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats continue to make clear that supporting American families during this deadly pandemic is their priority. They have again delivered on the funding states need to conduct safe, accessible, and fair elections this fall as well as for the United States Post Office to efficiently continue it’s important service.
“Now, Mitch McConnell must take his finger off the pause button and the Senate must show the same sense of urgency as the House on behalf of the American people. Their inaction is a recipe for disaster as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to grow and tens of millions of Americans are preparing to vote. With less than five weeks until Election Day, the Republican-controlled Senate needs to immediately put aside partisan politics, do what’s best for the American people and pass this bill.”
