Let America Vote and End Citizens United Oppose Amendment 3 in Missouri

Oct 09, 2020

Let America Vote (LAV) and End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement in support of the No on Amendment 3 campaign to protect voters against partisan gerrymandering and attempts to undo the voter mandate for fair maps and fair redistricting that Missouri voters supported in 2018:

“Missouri voters overwhelmingly supported fair redistricting and transparency reforms outlined in the Clean Missouri Amendment in the 2018 midterm election. LAV, ECU, and our members were proud to support Clean Missouri with more than $350,000 in grassroots contributions. Fast forward to 2020, and the lobbyist-backed Amendment 3 would reverse this progress. It would rig the drawing of district maps and disproportionately impact communities of color.

“This is a blatant, hyper-partisan attempt to protect the power of political operatives and incumbents who are rigging the system rather than encouraging fair redistricting that would ensure all Missouri voters’ voices are heard. Amendment 3 masquerades as good-government reform, but instead empowers the worst actors in Jefferson City. We will work with the broad Clean Missouri coalition to fight against Amendment 3 because redistricting is a central voting rights issue.”

Fight for Reform, the state level affiliate of LAV and ECU, focuses on defeating the influence of big money and defending the right to vote in states and localities around the country. FFR will connect supporters and volunteers with the No on Amendment 3 campaign.
