End Citizens United//Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the below statement today calling for the resignation of U.S. Census Director Steven Dillingham, following reports that he had instructed Census workers to produce a rushed report with incomplete and unchecked data on the number of undocumented individuals in the United States. Dillingham’s term is set to expire at the end of this year:
“Steven Dillingham has betrayed his responsibility as head of the Census Bureau and undermined the critical, objective data the agency provides in determining federal funds and seats in Congress. At every juncture over his tenure he has politicized the agency and its constitutionally-mandated work for the Trump administration’s political benefit. He must resign immediately and if he doesn’t, President-elect Joe Biden should remove him from office on January 20.”
