End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement in response to the attempted ban on mifepristone by a federal judge in Texas:
“The nationwide ban of mifepristone, an FDA approved abortion care medication, is another effort by MAGA Republicans to take away our rights and freedoms. The ruling comes from an extremist judge and part of the MAGA effort to push the agenda of radical dark money groups and corporate special interests, while ignoring the voices of the American people.
“The ban follows the Dobbs decision, which was forced on the country by a Supreme Court that was packed with MAGA extremists. Voters overwhelmingly rejected that extremism in the 2022 midterms and will continue to do so in 2024.
“On behalf of our 4 million members at ECU // LAV we will hold MAGA Republicans accountable as we remain committed to defending and strengthening our democracy, so that our system represents the priorities of everyday Americans and not extremist special interests.”
