This is the result of a coordinated $1.1 billion, billionaire-backed, dark money effort to capture the courts and take away reproductive freedom.
Now, Republican Senate candidates like Dave McCormick and Mehmet Oz are running to enact draconian restrictions that would criminalize doctors for providing safe medical services, punish people for having abortions in their home states, including banning it even in cases of rape, incest, and if the life of the person is in danger. David McCormick called the Court’s draft decision “a huge step forward and a huge victory.” He has pledged to “be a stalwart opponent of abortion,” and Mehmet Oz stated that “The Court is right. Roe was wrongly decided.”
The stakes of the 2022 elections could not be higher. Voters in Pennsylvania have a clear choice between extremists in McCormick and Oz, who want the government to make healthcare decisions for people in Pennsylvania, and Democrats, who will protect reproductive health care and ensure that every person in Pennsylvania has the freedom to make their own medical decisions.
