The same extremist dark money groups going after Medicare and Social Security are also going after President Biden’s historic student loan relief program. Their MAGA agenda is far out of step with the American people.
One of those groups is the Cato Institute.
The Cato Institute is a 501c3 dark money group that has spent millions to pass cut handouts for corporations while advocating to phase out Social Security and Medicare completely – taking away the benefits that Americans worked a lifetime to earn.
Not satisfied attacking a lifeline for seniors, the Cato Institute is targeting students. With the Supreme Court set to hear arguments over the student debt program on February 28, the Cato institute, joined an amicus brief in opposition to relief, trying to block this historic one-time student loan debt relief, which would help the millions of regular people struggling with crippling debt.
This is the extremist dark money apparatus’ playbook: Billionaires and corporations fund shady groups to overturn policies that will help working people in order to boost their bottom lines.
