New Ad Campaign: By Helping Corporate Donors Get Ahead, Rep. Ann Wagner Left Missouri Behind

Oct 20, 2020

End Citizens United (ECU) launched a $240,000 television ad buy in Missouri’s Second Congressional District reminding voters that Congresswoman Ann Wagner has left Missourians behind by helping herself and her corporate special interest donors get ahead. Wagner’s history of putting corporations ahead of Missourians earned her a spot on ECU’s Big Money 20, the group’s top incumbents to defeat in 2020 who benefit most from the corrupt establishment in Washington.

“Ann Wagner’s net worth has gone up during her time in Washington while Missouri families have fallen behind,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Instead of fighting for Missourians, Wagner has spent her career enriching herself and furthering Big Money’s bottom line in Congress. While Missourians continue to struggle covering the cost of prescription drugs and high healthcare costs, Wagner voted to raise her own pay and allow herself to spend money on private jets and fly first class at taxpayers’ expense. She’s accepted over $3.5 million from corporate special interests. It’s time for Missouri to send Ann Wagner packing.”

The broadcast, cable TV, and streaming ad campaign will begin October 20 and will run through October 27.

Full Script:
VO: For Ann Wagner, life in Washington is first class all the way.

Voting to let herself spend taxpayer dollars on private jets.

Fancy fundraisers and millions from corporate special interests.

Even voting to raise her own pay.

And her personal net worth keeps going up up up.

No wonder Ann Wagner “stinks of swamp politics.”

Well Congresswoman, this taxpayer ride is over.
