End Citizens United (ECU) launched a new TV and digital ad campaign totaling $300,000 in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District reminding voters that Yvette Herrell is a corrupt politician who can’t be trusted to stand up to the corporate special interests that bankroll her campaign.

“How can New Mexicans trust Yvette Herrell to stand up to corporate interests when they bankroll her campaign?” said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “Herrell has taken over $150,000 from corporate PACs and has repeatedly defended the interests of Big Tobacco and the storefront lending industry. She has a history of voting against ethics reforms and used her position to benefit her and her family. Unlike her opponent, Congresswoman Torres Small passed a bill that cracks down on corruption in both parties and voted to lower the cost of prescription drugs. There’s only one candidate New Mexicans can trust, and that’s Xochitl Torres Small.”

The TV ad campaign will run from October 20 through October 27. The digital ad will run from October 20 through Election Day.

Unlike dark money groups, ECU is entirely transparent and every penny is disclosed with the Federal Election Commission. Unlike Super PACs, ECU adheres to contribution limits and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average contribution of $14.
