End Citizens United is launching a new ad in New Hampshire today holding Senator Kelly Ayotte accountable for siding with the special interests who fund her campaign, instead of fighting for middle class New Hampshire families.  All of the people speaking in the ad, titled Town Hall, are grassroots members of End Citizens United.

Senator Ayotte, who has taken more than $585,000 from the insurance industry, has voted to end Medicare as we know it and replace it with a voucher system that would bring huge profits for insurers.  She has taken $416,000 from big oil and voted to protect their massive tax breaks.  And she’s sided with the billionaire Koch brothers more than 80 percent of the time, then benefited as their groups spent over $1 million attacking Maggie Hassan.

“New Hampshire families need a Senator who fights for them every day.  Instead, Senator Ayotte stands with the corporate special interests who fund her campaign and who have rigged the system to benefit themselves.” Tiffany Muller, End Citizens United Executive Director, said.  “Whether it’s attacking Medicare, protecting big oil, or taking orders from the Koch brothers, Kelly Ayotte has failed New Hampshire.  She won’t even support common-sense campaign finance reforms that would give middle class Americans a voice and limit the outsized influence of billionaires and corporate special interests in our elections.  As the ad says, ‘Getting Kelly Ayotte to side with us shouldn’t be this hard.’”

End Citizens United has added $240,000 to the buy to include digital versions of the ad as well as television.   On television, the $1.4 million statewide buy includes broadcast and cable in Boston and Manchester.  It will run from August 16 through August 29.
